The 'Mukhyamantri Anusuchit Jati Evam Anusuchit Janjati Chhatrawas Anudan Yojana' was launched by the SC and ST Welfare Department, Government of Bihar, to provide monthly financial assistance to students residing in Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe hostels. The scheme covers food and living costs so that hostel residence does not become a barrier to continuing education.

Eligibility

1. The student must belong to a Scheduled Caste or Scheduled Tribe.
2. The student must be a permanent resident of Bihar.
3. The student must be residing in a government-run or government-recognised SC/ST hostel.
4. The student must be enrolled in a recognised educational institution and maintain the attendance prescribed by the hostel.

Application Process

1. Obtain admission to a government-run or recognised SC/ST hostel through the District Welfare Office.
2. Submit the application form along with the required documents to the hostel superintendent.
3. The hostel superintendent forwards the verified list of residents to the District Welfare Officer.
4. On approval, the monthly grant is credited to the student's bank account.
