Details

Under the Transport Department of the Bihar Government, the 'Mukhyamantri Prakhand Parivahan Yojana' provides transportation facilities connecting blocks and remote Panchayats with district headquarters. The scheme aims to enhance connectivity and mobility for residents across the state of Bihar, and to encourage entrepreneurship among scheduled castes, scheduled tribes, extremely backward classes, backward classes and minority communities by providing financial support to purchase buses.

Benefits

• Subsidy of Rs. 5,00,000/- per bus to the beneficiary.
• The subsidy is credited directly to the beneficiary's bank account after the vehicle is purchased and registered.

Eligibility

1. The beneficiary should be a resident of the block where they apply.
2. The age of the beneficiary should not be less than 18 years.
3. The beneficiary must hold a valid driving license.
4. The beneficiary should not be working or employed in government service.
5. The beneficiary should belong to one of the specified categories: SC, ST, EBC, BC, Minority or General.

Application Process

1. Apply online on the Transport Department portal of the Government of Bihar within the notified application window.
2. Select the block for which the vehicle is to be operated and upload the required documents.
3. Applications are scrutinised at the district level and a merit list of selected beneficiaries is published.
4. Selected beneficiaries purchase the bus and register it for the notified route.
5. Submit the purchase invoice and registration certificate to the District Transport Office to claim the subsidy.
